Hello everyone! Let me tell you a little about me and my interests and hobbies!
Fur Babies
Michael and I share 4 furry kids who are all rescues - in fact, every cat or dog I have ever owned has been a rescue. I think it is wonderful when people can open their hearts and homes to give an abandoned cat or dog a forever family. We actually started with just 2 rescues...but in 2020, 2 feral kittens were abandoned in our backyard and they both desperately needed medical attention...so now our rescues total 4! The picture shows all 4 together.
Art = Happiness
I love doing art - drawing, painting, calligraphy, illuminated letters – I feel like it feeds my soul.
Fun with Food
I enjoy cooking for my family and trying new recipes, especially dishes made by my ancestors and from other cultures and time periods.
Photography
Taking pictures gives me another way to express art. I enjoy taking pictures in my own amateur way, starting with the traditional 35mm film camera...but some day I'd like to take a class to learn how to better use the camera on my cell phone!
Nature
Taking a break from work and appreciating nature - whether it is a road trip out of state or just a hike somewhere local helps me feel refreshed and ready to work again. This is a picture I took of one of my favorite places - Lake Tahoe - on the border of both California and Nevada. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it!
